One way to end a good day...

Friday, December 26, 2008

Today, my family and I went to Midvalley Megamall. All of us went except for Inaayah. It would be too tedious and tiring for a baby.
We arrived there at about 3:40 and parked at the basement of The Garden; a neigbouring shopping mall of Midvalley.
We went to Coach (window shopping only), Massimo Dutti, Dockers, Calvin Klein (Babah wanted to buy a denim jacket for Haikal but he didn't want it ~ crazy!!), MPH (wohoo, I've - Mama actually - bought lots of new novels), Baskin Robbins and Hush Puppies. Mama was searching for a sturdy boots for her conference (or somewhat like that) at Canada. We found a pair of GORGEOUS boots. Unfortunately, there were no available size for Mama. We then stopped to pray Asar at 6:45.After that, we went to have an early dinner. The lucky restaurant tonight was The Chicken Rice Shop. It was quite fulfilling but the waiter needed to increase his customer's servicing. After we emptied our plates we prayed Maghrib and continued shopping again! We stopped at Zara but the boots were made with pig lining. We also stopped at the Travellers Universe (I think that was its name) and bought leather glove, wool stoking, mufflers and a shirt for Mama. Wan Han jewellery store's 70% discount banner did not missed from my father's attention. We spent almost an hour there choosing a beautiful Y shaped necklace for Mama. The pendant and the chain were sold seperately. After a lot of discount and bargains made between Babah and the shopkeeper, they both settled at RM3000.00 on both items. We got a free pearl necklace and LOTS of chocolate mints. Yumm! Our last stop was at the Clarks. And thankfully we found a nice brown boots for Mama.
At 10:00 o'clock we were ready to head home. And this is where the climax of the day happened:
*****
At the basement, we stopped at the car park ticket payment counter. Babah was just paying the fees when there was a pained shout coming from the escalator. Of course it caught all of our attention. Apparently a boy (5-7 of age) hit a woman (Chinese) with a push chair. At first I thought the boy was her son. When they stepped off of the escalator and the woman began inspecting her leg, another woman (a Malay) came towards them. The Chinese woman demanded an apology from the boy's mother. I realized then the boy and the Chinese were not related although the boy looked European or American. Maybe the father is an expectorate.
The Malay woman ignored her and took the boy and began HITTING him furiously!!! She hit and hit him. Hard. Seriously. I and all other people there were stunned (that's an understatement). The Chinese woman was paralyzed and just gaped at the woman. AND THEN - THE MOTHER PULLED HER SONS HAIR IN DEEP LOCKS AND SHOOK HIM VIOLENTLY!!!! She did not say or scream anthing - just coldly abused her son in PUBLIC!!!! The boy screamed in pain while his MOTHER just angrily pulled at him. Like when you wash your clothes against a wooden board; up, down, up, down. Mama and Babah broke from their shock and she went to the woman to try to stop her while Babah shouted at her. Before Mama could put a stop, the woman abruptly stopped and took the pushchair and walked away without a single glance to others. She did not even apologized to the other woman and left her son there crying. And then, the boy's maid (and nanny) came to him and hugged him at her side while looking very angry at the ANIMAL'S back. No wait even animals DO NOT do that to their youngs. Saying she's an animal would be an insult to them. She's an abuser. The world would be a better place without people like her.
Anyway, after she went away, everyone looked at each other with either angry, scared or stunned expression pasted on their faces. A security guard came; I think the cashiers behind the counter called him. Well, he arrived too late but the did inspect and talked to the victim. Her left toe was bleeding and it seemed to me she was very upset that the woman did not apologized and made quite a big deal of her injured toe. The security guard took the woman to her car with his motorcycle. We were still in shocked even until now and talked about the incident all the way back home.
I can't imagine why a mother would do such a thing to her child. We worried of what will happen to the boy in private. God, the thought makes my stomach squeeze painfully and makes me turn cold with fear. I wonder what will happen to the boy when he grow up. Will he become like his mother or will he turn into his shell and seperate from others or involve himself in some bad things. Oh, God. And he has a little brother one or two year old. Hopefully, the woman will be stopped before the little one will be victimized also and before the abusing goes to far. I hope they will have a brighter future and be good great people.
The woman's action still rolls in my mind like a little video. You know, she reminded me of another woman back at Larkin Mall, Johor Bahru. My parents and I and Iliya went there to buy new kebaya for Pak Ucu's wedding. While my parents were talking to this salesperson about some sort of a health drink, I saw this woman (a Malay too - but she wore scarf and did wore sexy outfit like the above woman) scolding and hitting her son in the same way as the other one. The boy managed to broke away from her and started to run away. She literally chased after him and caught him at a corner and began hitting him again. The father was no different; he also hit his son but the younger one. Again, in public!
Seriously people!!! If you don't have the materials of making a good parent, then don't get any children!!!! Or better yet, don't marry!! You may just abuse your spouses instead. Just alienate yourself or sent yourself to a rehabilating centre. It may help you to change into a better person. Maybe not perfect but better. People like you only achieve of making this world a dangerous and bitter place. You may be the reason why others turn abusive or violent!!
I know some people become what they are today due to their background history. Maybe they were being abused in the past. Well, guys you are NO different from them. Coz you know -you do exactly what they did to you. I bet you like that.
I'm all worked up here. *breathing heavily*
I've been reading websites on where there are articles on child abuse. God, it is SO SICK. Surely these people will burn in hell. I DO NOT know what things are going inside their FRICKING minds!!!!!! I've also read this article about this man and his 16 year old son raped a 20 month old baby!!!!!! And where this man married his 8 year old daughter to a 58 year old for the sake of money!! *swearing profusely*
I REALLY hope this kind of people will realise what they're doing is just plain WRONG AND SICKENING AND INHUMANE!!!!!

Pics.. and more pics...

K.. as everyone knows, I am the eldest of the six HIs. My siblings and I have all the same initial : HI. fyi.
I was in a mood of taking picture one day. And I decide to post them. Just for fun. These pictures were taken in front of my house by the hand-me-down digital camera Ricoh.

Ajik n Hazwan (aka Bangchik)

We were preparing for a badminton tournament =D

Let the game begins...

I'd say he's a natural =P

The after effects of too much powder and cavities = frightening...

Iliya on her bike (actually it was mine when i was little) It was handed down to every HIs. And it still survives till today. Cool, eh? Although Babah bought her a new one last week.

Someone's been pretending to be Superman...

Apparently, someone needs to teach her ladylike manner
oh, brother...

Changed my braces

Its already twice now I that I've changed my ligatures and have my braces checked since my last post.
My molars and premolars were already fixed. It was painful, yeah. But only for like 3-4 days. I can't chew any hard food like biscuits for the first 2 weeks.
But after that, it went smoothly. I really enjoy having braces. I'm also accustomed to them now.
As you guys know...
The first time, my ligatures were pink and lavender.
Well, the second one was with FOUR colours (rock on, man!). It was green, orange, black and red. The greens really stand out. I mean, REALLY.
The third one, I chose more subtle colours: pink and yellow. The arrangements were two pinks, then two yellows, after that two pinks again... It was because that if i just choose one pink and one yellow alternatively, the yellow will not stand out. I mean, you can't really see the yellow just the pink.
So, there are some distinct changes; there are no more gap between my two incisors (the above). My teeths (below) are not so crooked anymore. These were made in the first month. Cool, right? I didn't know it will be this fast.
So I DID took pictures. I just donno where they are. I'll try to find them and post it (someone groans "Darn it!")

Add Maths Paper 2

Hey..
so okay.. it is WAAAYYY past the exam.. but i haven't written about the second paper yet.
I just wanna say that the second paper.. yeah... I did it better than the first one. Alhamdulillah. It seems that I got my wish.
It was easy really. I did not panic. Another bonus =)
Anyway, write now I'm praying I will pass the exam with flying colours. Insya-Allah

Pedas Hot Spring

Yesterday, my family and I went to Pedas waterpark (with hot spring) at Negeri Sembilan. We started the journey at 10 n stopped for breakfast at ABC Cheras Perdana. After 30 mins, we continued our journey on the Alphard. It took us an hour till our destination (i slept through out it)
I already went there a few years back (back when my age was a single digit). It was a lot more fun than yesterday, though. Babah said that's because I already went to many places (eg: Milan, Firenzie, Pisa, Venezia, Interlaken (switzerland), Luzern, Saudi, Singapore n Sunway Lagoon (this was last month)) so, when we went to a well, not so extravaganza place, the fun was not as it used to be. And I don't get easily awed anymore.
Anyways, I did have fun. Up at the slides that is. I went there numerous times yesterday (it was the only fun entertainment).
You know, someone almost drown there. At the pool at the end of the slide, I mean. At first, I thought he was just jumping around like my brothers like to do, but after a few more seconds and he began to slow down and gasped for air, I knew it was no joke. I quickly told Haikal and he was about to jump into the pool, when another man saved the little boy first. Alhamdulillah, the kid was okay. He looked a little bit panicked but just for a while. He then went up the slide - AGAIN. Sheeshh... didn't the kid learn his lesson??
So, besides that, I went to a hot spring!!!! It was my first time... Man, it was hot. There were two pools, one was directly from the source (so it was SUPERHOT) n the other was just beside the first one. No one went inside the first one (I'm included). At first, I just put my legs in first. After like 5 minutes, i went in full body except my head. It was comfortable enough once you get the hang of it. There were quite a lot of minerals contained in the water such as magnesium, calcium, caesium, iron, potassium, sodium and so forth. i just spent 15 minutes there though; I felt suffocated like an asthmatic person felt after a strenous walking.
We spent about 3 hours there, then we were ready to pack the bags. We took a brief shower first although the shower room and toilet are SERIOUSLY DISGUSTING!!!!!! No one maintained the amenities there, that's for sure. We stopped at Cendol Leman Dawi on our way back home. It was delicious. I ate one a half bowl of it.. Nyum.. Nyumm...
My siblings and I are quite dark now. Especially my brothers. Their bodies are striped black n white now... Wahahahaha.. funny =D
So, that's all.
If you guys wanna go there, these are the entrance fees: below 85cm = free, between 85 and 135cm = RM 8.00, above 135cm = RM 10.00. It is quite expensive considering the service and the state of facilities there. I think the waterpark was just a side attraction for the hot spring. And the hot spring was not that big.
Tata. Au revoir.

mural at my old school

Assalamualaikum.
It has been quite a long time since I posted any blogs... So sorry, 'twas because i was busy. Although I cant think at all with what. Hmmm..
So, I have been going to SMKBTHO2 with my friend Farah to do some creative painting on the school's walls = mural.
Me and Farah got a panel all to ourselves. Although, Fahmi (ex-classmate) and Balqis (the Arts teacher's daughter) helped a bit (mostly us though) and a few touched up by the teacher herself.
It was quite pretty. Our project was a scenery out of a window. It took us three days to finish it.
Other students were also present there doing their mural.
I took a few pictures to share :

Farah helping Afiq on his mural n vice versa (2nd day)

Ainul painted the woods for the window (for Afiq's panel)

Pn. Halijah's mural (she did it herself - all of it)

Other's mural... it is so pwetty, right?

ME!!!!!

Farah painted on the top of the panel (I'm scared of heights)

Man!! A job well done, eh?

A closer view to our mural.. what do ya think?

There's the school's policy board up at the edge, see?

we signed our names (the smiley was me)

me n balqis

farah n balqis

AND the artists = hanis n farah (cheering)

It was fun - the whole three days... I've made new friends (sorta) and meet my old acquaintances. Anyways... I hope to be doing it again (the mural, i mean)

Add Maths Paper 1

Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Yesterday was my examination on Add Maths Paper 1. It started out smoothly - until the middle of the second page...*jeng..jeng..jeng*... THEN I started panicking!! (there were only 3 pages, mind you) The questions were not that hard and thank god I got to answer 9 out of the 12 qs smoothly. That's good considering I only started studying the subject 4 months ago and just studied integration and velocity THIS week!
I didn't answer one of the q. ARRRGGHHHH!!! I AM SOOOO FRUSTRATED!!!! I got some ideas on answering it.. BUT (why must there be a but??) I just couldn't put them on the paper.. I have no idea how these ideas were connected and well, *burst into tears*....
Tomorrow I'll be doing the second paper. Insya-Allah, I'll do it better. Oh God, I hope so!!! My life will be affected by this exam and I HAVE TO, WANT TO, NEED TO get AT LEAST A (or B, but I don't like B so I'll settle for A =P )
Last June's exams' results were okay. Have I told you of the results? - I got 5A* (all of the science subs, maths and english) and 1A (IT ~ I was frustrated and disappointed. I had never got an A, it had always been A*. IT was the one subject that I KNOW I'll get an A*. *sigh* But I have to be thankful it was an A. So, Alhamdulillah).
Well, anyway, wish me luck!

Third day with the braces...

Friday, October 31, 2008

Hey, ya'll!
Well, today is my third day with the braces (as the title mentioned)... I woke up this morning and it's still paining me.. Sad =(
So, while I was brushing my teeth I came up with a brilliant idea - why don't I fast today? I mean, it's not like I'm gonna eat with the constant ache at my teeth. Well, it could be a brilliant idea if I ate dinner last night or sahur.. but I didn't.. Yesterday I only eat once (a bowl of porridge) at 6 pm. Well, I did drink milk that morning but that's all. hehe..
So, today, while I was doing my add maths homework (3 pm), I was ready to faint. Or just drop dead. Not because of hunger but due to the lackness of energy. My mom scold me (as she should) and I can't help but thinking how clever I was *extreme sarcasm there*
Anyway, lesson learnt was NEVER EVER fast if you haven't ate dinner the night before that (I can still live without sahur, though).
Well, during iftar (breaking the fast) I ate fried kuew teow and bihun soup (shared them with my brothers). I was hungry so I TRIED to ignore the pain it caused me ~ end up with a killer pain at my teeth, headache and stomach ache (I ate quite a lot, I guess).
Huh! If this goes on (the-don't-eat-since-it-just-causes-you-pain), it can make me loose a few pounds (and I'm already underweight as I am right now - 90lbs).
Well, I'm going to fast tomorrow. Although this time, I already ate dinner AND I will wake up for sahur (Insya-Allah).

I'm Wearing 'Em Now

Thursday, October 30, 2008

AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!
I'm wearing braces now!! OMG! OMG! I was quite nervous yesterday, but the entire process was okay, except during the etching when I tasted the 'glue'... EEEUUUWWW!! seriously distasteful (is that even the right word?) *shiver*
Anyway, wanna know what I chose? *nodding head vigorously* It is tadda-da-da ~ hot pink and lavender....
WEE!!! It reminds me of assorted candies =P.. COOL! I'm gonna upload the photos I took so you guys can see them. Haha..
By the way, I'm currently just wearing the braces on my front teeth (you know, the insicors and the canines - 6 teeth above and below each), the doctor said there weren't any brackets for the molars and premolars.. they will be fixed on the 14th of November. MAANNN!!!
Dr. Azizah (my dentist/orthodontist) also put something on my molar teeth so that my upper teeth won't touch the braces on my lower teeth. It was quite uncomfortable.. Okay, maybe it IS uncomfortable. I can't help but grind and chew constantly after that. (I'm stopping now, I swear!)
Well anyway, after the first 15-20 minutes of the entire procedure, I felt a little force on my teeth but nothing that is painful. It was quite weird, you know. The braces I meant. Still quite unused to them yet. Dinner was hard. No kidding! It was hard to chew. Though that didn't stop me from second helping. Hehe..
This morning, when I woke up, I didn't feel anything (ex. the slight force). But, when I brushed my teeth, YEOOWWW!! even my TONGUE can't touch it.. The upper teeth are most sensitive.. *sigh* but, I didn't take any tylenol or ibuprofen (or Panadol as the orthodontist suggest) since I can stand the pain (it's not THAT painful).

So these are the picture;

before

after!! Cool eh? I like it! =D

The reason why the two pics look SO different (except the obvious; braces) is because the first was taken at night with camera (so, there's the whole-flash and all). The second one was taken by the computer's camera). And, yeah, the pictures are weird but HEY!!! *mutters something *

Okay that's all folks! I'm gonna post EVERY MONTH when I change the colours.. hehe.. can't wait!

Buh-bye!

Tomorrow, gonna get my braces fixed.

Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Hey, guys!!
Tomorrow, is the 29th of October 2008. The day when I'm gonna get my braces. I'm so nervous (and excited)!
I still haven't choose what colours I'm going to use for the ligatures. OMG! Major issue here!!
What do you suggest. I thought of teal and pink. What do you think? I mean, it's OK right?
Or maybe I should choose darker colours. Like maroon or something....
AAAHHHHH!!!! Come on!
I asked my family's opinions;
Babah: white, so the ligatures can change colour with the food I eat like curry or tea. *laughed*
Haikal:*looked at me with the "you're kidding right" expression*
Mama: I'm giving you the freedom to choose it yourself
Haziq: grey? (me: OMG, that is so common! no way im gonna use that)
Hazwan: something that I could not understand.. maybe it was black and yellow... (bees)
- much help there.
Anyway, just wait till tomorrow and see what colour I will choose at a spur of moment. Huh...
Wish me luck!

The goings-on

Tok Mak was admitted into the hospital last week. My parents and 3 of my siblings went to visit her last Saturday. The rest of us had not because (Haikal and I) had tuitions and it will be quite tiring for Inaayah (9 months old). I don't really know what was wrong, only that she was sick and had a fever. Fortunately, she went back home on Sunday. So, she didn't stay at the hospital for long. Alhamdulillah. I guess that meant it was nothing too serious, right?
On their (Mama, Babah n my bros and sis) journey back home, they stopped at Nenek's and Wanchik's home. They're Babah's mom and aunt. I haven't seen Wanchik for 2 years now. And I still haven't seen her yet. I wonder how she is? She currently lives at Pondok, Kuantan (I think). She's doing some religious studies there. Once in a while she go back home. And it's usually when people aren't there.
Well, anyway that's all. I don't really know the goings-on here so I can't really write anything much. *sigh*
Buh-bye! =D

Changes

Monday, October 20, 2008

Yesterday, Tok Achid (my grandaunt) held an open house in which my whole family attended (and the maid). The opening ceremony was that morning (only the neighbours attended). When we arrived (about 2 o'clock), it drizzled quite a bit and the neighbours had went home. Other guests (such as the host and hostess co-workers) have not arrived yet. Quite a pleasure for us as it was not crowded.
Anyway, yesterday was also the first time I saw my uncles; Tok Achid's sons (although I dont feel like they and their sisters are my uncles and aunties, more like cousins) in 2 years. WOW! They've changed A LOT!!! I mean, they didn't get any bigger.. but their appearances have certainly changed. And the way they carry themselves (or somewhat like that). It's quite disconcerting, that. Zarfan, who is of the same age as mine (although I think he already turned 16 last September) had always been the cocky, weird, always smiling and absolutely shameless person I've known. But not yesterday. No. He with his spectacles (it made him look more mature - totally freaked me out) just sit properly at the living room and talked but a little. He smiled a little too. He kept his head low and quickly stood up when a new guest arrived... SERIOUSLY! Can people changed a lot in 1 and a half years?! Not only that, his jaw structure had sharpen; it was more prominence. And his eyebrows were more bushy than I remembered. Do I need to say more?
Anyway, his older brother Razi changed too. But it was more of the looks than the behaviour. His always kept hair was longer (touched his shoulder) and well - weirder. His always gangly figure had certainly broaden a bit. Especially the shoulders. Other than that, I couldn't quite figure what other changes had happened. Yet.
So, while I thought of their weird and new - shall I call it - "evolution", I thought about my family. And the changes made in the 1 and half years passed. I know my father had grew more umm... bigger. Not to worry, though! He said he's gonna start working out (Insyallah). He bought a lot of work out equipments and such. Just hope he'll use it. My mother was not quite as thin as she used to be (because of the last pregnancy and because of her - OUR idleness @ saudi) but she is still slim (as a river - as my friend said; weird...), my younger brother by 2 years is taller than me. WAY taller. He grew his facial hair (I just realized yesterday) and he got acne too (THAT, I know). But ONLY on his nose. Weird eh? Hazwan got his glasses. And grew a little bit taller. Haziq - nothing that I've figured out yet. EXCEPT.. wait.. no.. he had always been better in English than in Malay (the whole family are like that ex. babah. he's good with both) Iliya - her front teeth had chipped quite a lot and she got a lot of tooth decay. Sad, really for a three years old kid. She also got thinner (since we moved back to Malaysia). Inaayah is still a baby so she constantly changes. Thus, let's skip her.
Now, last but not least - ME! I'm still figuring it out. My acne problem is no more a problem (well, maybe during PMS but that's it).. Now it's the scars.. Shishh.. I got a bit of a figure I guess =P Hahaha. My weight is still up and down - between 40 and 44 kg. I stopped growing taller (NNOOOOO!!!) at 157 cm.. *sniff* (shorty). I'm more mature, maternal (hehe - yeah, right), helpful (according to my aunts) and my voice changed (my cousins said that while we were talking) and I talked differently - more formal-like (according to my friend(s)). I started wearing mascara and I'm more picky (in the branded stuff). OOHH.. AND now I read romance books.. Euwww, I know!
I guess that's it. During Eid Mubarak.. others' changes didn't stray from my notice either. But, I thought to write just about these 2 guys n my family. Hehe.. Anyways, that's all.
Ciao.

Changing world

Friday, October 17, 2008

Years by years,
the gap of the wealth and the poor increases,
Months by months,
the crime rate is escalating,
Weeks by weeks,
more destructions upon the innocents,
Days by days,
hundreds of trees are cut down,
Hours by hours,
more animals are threatened,
Minutes by minutes,
more tears are shed,
Seconds by seconds,
our life are endangered
Moments by moments,
the world is changing
Hahaha.. as you can see, I was out-of-my-mind bored so I did this.. Donno what it is, but it sure made the 15 minutes flew by.. =P

What colour$ should I chose?

Okay, to those who do not know; I'm going to where braces on the 29th (supposed to be today - but was postponed due to my mother's absence).
My teeth are (pretty) OKAY... Unlike some people, my teeth are not crowded. Quite the opposite in fact. I have microdontia (small teeth) so there are large gaps between my them. Other that, there are no problems.
I'm going to use the metal braces... with the OH-SO-COLOURFUL ligatures!! I LUURRVVEE colours, so I'm having problem in choosing them for my FIRST braces. I was thinking like (starting from the above right canine) orange then hot pink then the two insicors are red and cobalt blue respectively, after that are yellow and ocean grean (the left canine). What do you think? Although I havent thought of the lower jaw's.
Or maybe just plain and simple hot pink and violet (or lavender) alternatively.. Both on the upper and lower jaw.
I mean I could try other new colours every one or two months... Oh, the joy!!!!! (I'll change the ligatures colours on every check up)
You know... there are even glow in the dark ligatures!! hahaha... man, I can try that.
My imaginations wander off;
Oh no! The power has been cut off! There are no lights! How could we see in the dark?
Tadda - da - daa!!
Never fear! Hanis is here! *I jumped into the scene*
Oohh.. It's Hanis! And her glow in the dark braces!!
*I smile* and WAHHHH.... the ligatures glow bright and true all over the victims..
Thank you Hanis!! Without you, we will be perished in eternal darkness...
Hahaha.. okay, anyway... I really donno what to choose!!
*sigh*
I'll post as soon as I decides.. Tarra!

Braces

Good morning. Rise n shine lazy bones...
Today, I'm gonna write about braces. The orthodontic braces, I mean.
****
It seems, that now a days, more and more people are wearing dental braces. This is for the purpose to align their teeth so, their bite or jaw position can be fixed (for those who have malocclusion) or just so that their smile would be more beautiful.
There are a few types of braces:
  1. the usual conventional metal braces (I think it's cool - you can choose the colours for the ligatures. Wehee!! Rainbows!)
  2. the lingual braces (the braces are behind the teeth so that it's not visible for others to see. Professional people usually use this treatment)
  3. damon braces (said to be faster than the other types of braces and it is self-ligated)
  4. the invisalign (do not use wires and brackets... instead invisalign is a removable clear aligners. custom-made so no two are the same. must cost quite a lot!)
  5. gold braces (made of 24k gold. people who are allergic to nickel use this. waahhh!! even your teeth have bling-blings :D )

Usually, the first week of wearing braces are the hardest. Clenching your teeth can be quite hurtful (use painkillers if you can't handle it) and it feels weird and awkward to have something stucked there in the mouth. Soreness and lisp can be avoided by using waxes. The day when the wires are tighten can also be quite painful. But don't worry! All the pains and hurting will be worth it!

After wearing braces (9 months - 3 years), then retainers will be fitted in your mouth. Some people might think that this is not necessary and ignore the orthodontist orders on how you should wear it. But actually, retainers are VERY important. Without it, your teeth may return to their original positions. So all those pains and money will be wasted! There are 3 types of retainers:

  1. Hawley retainers (removable)
  2. Essix (they looks like invisalign but they do not align teeth)
  3. bonded or permanent retainers (only the doctor can remove these retainers)

While using braces, your diet and hygiene are vital. Do not eat hard or chewy foods (lsuch as toffee or apple~unless it is cut into small pieces) as they could harm or break the braces. After every meal, brush your teeth. Usually it takes an extra time to clean and floss between the wires. But, hey, if you don't, the food that stucks between braces and you teeth will eventually turn to plaque and well, no one wants that! For those who wear invisalign, it is suggested that you remove it during mealtime and always clean them!! (or else it smells. phewww!!)

Well, anyway, these braces (and retainers) are very helpful and worth it! By the end of your treatment, you will have the most beautiful smile and teeth. It can help boost your self-confident and no more hiding your teeth!! Good luck to everyone who will / are wearing braces!!

PS: I'm going to wear it this 29th! That's why I'm writing this article.

The Frustration

Tick.. Tock.. Tick.. Tock..
Time waits for no man. And it could not go any slower.
11th of November 2008. Urghh!!
Only a fellow student would understand my agony.
The exam is getting nearer. And it's Add Math - of all subjects!

*groans*

I decided to take Add Maths in the middle of August.
My first class was not a week after that.
Then, my brilliant mind thought, "Hey, it's just Add Maths. How hard could it be, right? Let's just take the exam in November ~ which is a shy of 3 months away."

As, the time past, I could have not been bothered.
I was always just sitting idle. Doing almost nothing.
Now, it's the it's the 16th... of OCTOBER!!
And I still have 3 and a half chapters yet to be covered!!!
Oh, the frustration....
I learned a VERY valuable lesson this week and I hope you do too (from my mistake):

Proscrastination is the thief of time

*sniff*

PS: This is NOT a poem or anthing similar to that. This is just me being melodramatic.

Drug Abuse

  • Alcohol, heroin, ecstacy...
  • medicine or narcotic?
  • both addictive and hazardous...

Drug... A notorious killer! The use of illegal drugs among teenagers is escalating. Unfortunately, teenagers do not see the link between their actions today and the consequences tomorrow. They have a tendency to turn blind eye and feel adamant to the problems that others experienced. Teens use drugs for various reasons; they have a family history of substance abuse, depression, out of curiousity, befriend with the wrong people and because they do not fit in or out of the mainstream. Thus, they are trying to fill the vacuum of their life.
Parents can help to conquer this problem. They should involved in their children's life, teaching them responsible behaviour, encouraging open communication, instilling their self worth, encouraging a healthy lifestyle and most importantly; by being a good role model to them.
In short, teenagers must know the consequences on drug addiction before trying on it. Family background and the community influence one's life so it should not be taken lightly. Drug abuse must be avoided at all cost as life is precious; we never know the worth of water until the well runs dry.

My First Blog

Hello, everyone. How are you (fellow bloggers) doing?
Well, I'm currently writing my very first blog (EVER!)... and I'm also having a difficulty to find a topic to write about...
Any suggestions?
****
Well, maybe I should write about how I knew this website (or umm.. blogspot?). It's all thanks to my lovely aunt (Mak Ucu, as I called her - whose blogspot address I seemed to have forgotten. Sorry, Mak Ucu). Her husband (my mom's youngest brother) just married her a couple of months ago and she posted their wedding pics @ her blog. Me, being the persistent chit ever... bugged them to let me see these pics (and long story short - this is how I "came across" the webpage).
The reason why I joined this blog (although I'm not really a big fan of writing diaries, journals, essays, ect..) is because I'm bored doing nothing at home. (I just finished my IGs last June and waiting to continue on with my studies). Currently, I'm busying myself (sort of) with Add Maths. I'm going to take the exam on the middle of November ~ Wish me luck!!
So, anyway, other than that, well - nothing. Nada. Everyday I slept late and woke up late (unless I have classes for the Add Maths subject. I'm home school (just for this subject, mind you)). And watch TV (I don't enjoy it like most people do). Furthermore, all of my brothers go to the public schools near our home and so, I'm alone at home with my 3 years old and 9 months sisters. And they usually sleep in the afternoons. So, you can guess how bored I get. *sigh*
Nevertheless, I hope this blogger will help me to occupy my days... and maybe improve my writing skills? =P Hehe..
So I guess that's it. How's that for my first blog?
It's pretty darn boring, eh? No matter, I'll get better in time (I hope).
Anyway. Toodles. Bubbye. (Do people say goodbye when at the end of each blog?)
Note to self: check others' blogs for more info

I'll be writing soon. : )
